~2001 Stallion Quality Blue Blagdon Gypsy Cob Mare~

Blue

***NEWS***

***Blue was named "Best Of Show Gypsy" at the 2007 Parker Draft, Gypsy, and Haflinger Show!***

Parker Draft, Gypsy, and Haflinger Show - 2007

A horse of a different color. Beibhinn (BAY-vin) Blue is a really beautiful and rare 6 year old blue blagdon mare who is not only a one of a kind in color, but she's also well bred. She was imported from the SD farm in England and was bred by Andrew Moulden. Although her color is called blue blagdon, her color is actually caused by an extreme sabino blue color. Blue is a gorgeous traditional mare and no matter what color she is, Blue is exactly want you want in a gypsy cob! She has wonderful conformation with an awesome body, nice short back, heavy bone, good neck, and TONS of silky feather! She moves really well for the "little block" type she is. You can see what a sweet personality she has in her pretty face. Blue has that classic cob disposition that this breed is prized for! As the gypsies say, "She doesn't have a bit of harm in her."

Blue is in foal to our stallion Luck of the Irish a.k.a. Ziggy for an early June 2008 foal! This foal will be offered for sale. Please contact us today if interested in this foal.

Blue

Blue is a beauty from every angle. She is quite a chunky mare.

Blue's feather

Blue feather

Got Feather?
Blue has got the most amazing feather I have seen on a mare. It is perfectly straight and silky and there is TONS of it!

Blue trot

Blue has great movement for being such a chunk of a girl.

Blue extended trot

She has great extension too. And just look at all her wonderful silky feather. She definitely has plenty!

Blue and Gandalf

On May 20, 2006 Blue blessed us with an awesome colt by "Jim The Blagdon." Gandalf was purchased by Jennifer Gilson of Desert Jewel Gypsy Horses as a weanling, but Jennifer has been kind enough to allow our boy to come back home! Thanks Jen!

Blue and Blake

This is Blake (now known as Bandera Bold O'Donahue), Blue's 2005 colt by the stallion Cochise. He is now owned by Bandera Gypsy Ranch in Texas. I just love Blue's stunning color in this picture! She is truly unique.

Blue riding

Although Blue was not trained when I got her, she is proving to be a natural at riding. She is solid and powerful to ride!

Blue and Gandalf

Blue has got a beautiful face with such a kindly expression. It is also accented by a lovely moustache. As you can see, Gandalf also got his mother's lovely head.

Blue and I

Her backside isn't too shabby either ;)

Luck Of The Irish

This is Luck Of The Irish a.k.a. Ziggy, our stallion that Blue is in foal to for 2008. Go to Ziggy's page for more information about this awesome young stallion!
